Terms and Conditions

BOOKINGS, RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT:

  • US$800 is required to secure a reservation. The balance is payable at the last day of the safari.
  • Bank guaranteed cheques, travellers cheques, credit card payment (MASTER and VISA only), US dollar cash or Namibian dollar cash is acceptable as payment method.
  • Please note that Kowas Hunting Safaris has credit card facilities.
  • SWIFT transfers could also be made into our Namibian Bank account. Note that only VISA and MASTER cards are accepted.
  • All cost incurred during the safari, will be billed on an invoice and is payable at the end of the safari.
  • Payment currency would be either in US$, Namibian dollar or Euro.

CANCELLATIONS:

  • Cancellations are subject to four weeks notice in writing.
  • 50% of the deposit is refundable
  • Full deposits can be carried forward for Safari at a later date. When re-booked for the following year, the new price list will be applied.
  • Roll-over of the deposit would be allowed only once.  The deposit would not be carried over a second time to another year, then you lose the deposit.

DAILY RATES INCLUDE:

  • All road transport from and to local airport
  • Professional hunter services
  • Camp staff, gun bearers, skinner and tracking services
  • Accommodation
  • Meals and (reasonable quantity) drinks (wine / beer / soft drinks)
  • Field transport
  • Daily laundry service
  • Concession area fees
  • Field trophy preparation
  • (No VAT is payable on exported trophies.)
  • Delivery of trophies to local Taxidermist or Shipper
  • Providing of “soft rifle bag” for transportation while in Namibia


DAILY RATES EXCLUDE:

  • Air travel to and from Lodge
  • Air travel to and from concession areas
  • Road travel between hunting (concession) areas
  • Road travel outside the Dordabis Conservancy area
    (Kowas Hunting Safaris forms part of the Dordabis Conservancy area.)
  • Accommodation before and after contracted safari period
  • Hard alcohol
  • Disinfecting, packaging, forwarding and insurance of trophies from Kowas via shipper to client
  • Trophy shipment costs
  • Rifle rentals at US$ 25.00 per day and ammunition at cost if required
  • Trophy hunting permit fee of US$25-00 per trophy hunting permit
  • Taxidermist charges
  • Staff gratuities
  • Value added tax (VAT) at 15% for accommodation (to be added to prices reflected on price list and all quotations.)
  • Value added tax (VAT) at 15% for all game species wounded and not found.

SAFETY

  • While every precaution is made, no responsibility can be accepted for any acquired illness or loss nor any expenses incurred as a result.

OTHER CONDITIONS:

  • Trophy fees are payable in respect of all animals bagged or wounded.
  • The client is obliged to notify the Outfitter of any special medical health conditions (i.e.: heart problems, diabetics, asthma, allergies, etc.) at least ten (10) days prior to the arrival date.


POTENTIAL HAZARDS AND DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SPORT OF HUNTING WILD ANIMALS WITH BOTH RIFLE AND BOW

Kindly take note and be aware of the following hazards / dangers at all times:

OPEN HUNTING VEHICLE:

  • Be informed of protruding branches that could cause scratches and injuries to the face and eyes.
  • Be seated at all times, due to uneven road surfaces.
  • Sudden stoppage’s does occur.
  • Be seated and rifles must always be locked in the safe position while traveling on open vehicles and pointed upwards and away from any persons.
  • If standing in the load bin of a vehicle, hold on to grips.

 

STALKING WILD ANIMALS:

  • Be aware of uneven surfaces, loose rocks and holes, potential snake, scorpion and spider bites.
  • Wear closed shoes, preferable boots.
  • Stay in close proximity of the hunting guide / professional hunter / master hunting guide.
  • Keep rifle locked in safe position and pointed away from any person.

 

FIRE ARMS AND LIVE AMMUNITION:

  • Be informed that no live ammunition should be left in the chamber, unless the client is in the process of preparing to shoot.
  • Firearms should always be pointed away from any person.
  • Firearms should be locked in a safe position, unless the client is preparing to shoot.

 

WILD ANIMALS IN GENERAL:

  • All wild animals are dangerous and unpredictable, wounded or not, and should be treated with the utmost caution.
  • Be aware to always stay close to the hunting guide / professional hunter / master hunting guide.
  • Be aware never to approach or attempt to approach wild animals without informing the Hunting guide / professional hunter / master hunting guide.
